「Johann Schmidt在德國出生，二戰期間投身成為納粹黨成員，支持希特勒，他戴上紅骷髏的面具，主管納粹黨的恐怖活動，亦為了對付他，美國方面開發了Project Rebirth再生計劃，才制造出美國隊長。紅骷髏一直與SHIELD及Avengers為敵，曾被氣體冷藏身體，後有了一個女兒Sin，也因為年老而和美國隊長最後一戰而死去。不過Arnim Zola復制了美國隊長的身體，然後將Red Skull的思想移植到他身上。後來Aleksander Lukin曾派出Winter Soldier去暗殺他，在Red Skull死前使用了cosmic cube，讓他的思想轉移到Lukin身上，後來Sharon用槍將Lukin殺死，不過得Arnim Zola及時將他的思想轉移到一個機械人身上。在Reborn漫畫內，他要使用Steve身體的計劃被破壞，結果被Sharon所殺。」
