【內容介紹】

　　這個一群可愛的蔬菜們的故事，開始於一次意外事故。
　　在一個月光皎潔的夜晚，一群駕駛著大篷車旅行的“蔬菜”們在大道上一邊前進，一邊快樂的唱歌。但是他們不小心與一群由“衣服”為主力組成的小團體發生了爭執，於是引發了一場戰斗。在和這伙曬衣繩、拳擊短褲和豪豬等的作戰中，“蔬菜”們的大蓬車出了事故，於是他們只好來到一個破舊蕭條的海鮮市場尋求幫助。
　　在這裡他們遇到了一群號稱“什麼事也懶的做”的海盜。在等待拖車幫忙的時候，他們與這群海盜坐在一起閒聊。海盜們講了一個關於主人公蘆筍約拿的故事：
　　故事發生在很久以前的另一個地方。主人公蘆筍約拿是一個信使。不過他可不是一個普通的投遞員，他是上帝的信使。約拿很喜歡自己的工作，一天，他接到一個任務，要他把信送給古亞述國尼尼微城的人們。
　　約拿不喜歡尼尼微人，因為他們不僅喜歡撒謊、偷竊，而且還喜歡用魚砸人。於是，約拿不僅不著急去完成任務，卻坐上了一家相反方向行駛的船。船的主人正是這群“什麼事也懶的做”的海盜。在船上，他還遇到了一個地毯“商人”，毛蟲卡裡爾。
　　不幸的是，約拿被一只巨大的鯨魚吞到了肚子裡面。在鯨魚的肚子裡，又發生了一段驚險、刺激卻又好玩的故事。
