簡介：
吉卜利企劃制作的紀錄片。2007年吉卜利畫師男鹿和雄畫展於東京都現代美術館開幕了，66天會展期間接待了不同年齡層次的男女老少，經會展人員統計來訪的人超過20萬。本片從20歲的男鹿進入動畫制作領域學習背景繪制，35歲加入吉卜利工作室擔任美術導演，直到2007年55歲的男鹿親自導演制作影片幾個章節一邊介紹動畫片中背景繪制，一邊介紹作為有著40年繪畫經驗的畫師男鹿和雄是如何默默支持吉卜利作品的。
本片2007年發行DVD，2013年3月發行BD，內附俄日雙音軌，僅保留日語音軌，字幕為有愛自翻，矢車菊影音工作室（Cornflower Studio）5周年獻禮。
